Perspectives are not identical to research articles – research articles aim to present novel findings that emerge as a result of academic inquiry. A perspective, on the other hand, is more akin to a review article, though it differs in focus. While review articles broadly examine the current state of knowledge, its evolution, and the associated challenges, perspectives typically concentrate on a narrower scope, such as a specific paper or technique. Only by invitation are perspectives published.

Contributions toward advancing the article's concept and design have been significant; likewise, substantial efforts have been directed toward data collection, processing, and interpretation.

Agreed upon, one must assume responsibility for every element of the project to address any queries concerning accuracy or integrity within its various components.

Contributors who are unable to meet all necessary authorship criteria should be included in the Acknowledgements section. The burden of obtaining written approval lies with the author, and it must be granted to anyone mentioned within that same section.

The submitting author is required to ensure that every member of the entire team has reviewed and approved this submitted version of the manuscript, along with their consent for either being included as co-authors or having their names listed in the Acknowledgements section.

Each author's contributions to this work now require indication as part of the submission process. Authors are required to include Author Contributions using the CRediT Taxonomy, which provides a structured approach for defining contributor roles. Each author on a paper may have one or more CRediT contribution roles, but having a role described by the taxonomy does not automatically qualify someone as an author. Please review the Best Practice Guidelines on Research Integrity and Publishing Ethics.

The liability of the submitting author extends to verifying that all eligible authors are properly included in the submission, with their correct spelling, institutional affiliations, and contact details presented in accordance with the established order. The principal institutional affiliation noted for each contributor should reflect where most of the work was executed. In cases where an author has since relocated, their current address can be documented as a secondary institutional affiliation. The Acknowledgements section serves as a platform to provide additional clarification regarding whether any portion or all of the research was conducted at one or multiple distinct institutions.

Issues have arisen regarding the submission of your manuscript due to concerns about identity verification. To address this, please ensure that all authors using institutional email addresses provide additional identification information as specified in the submission guidelines. We kindly ask that you complete the required fields on the submission form, including a copy of your ID card or passport, along with evidence of enrollment at your institution. If you have any questions or encounter difficulties, please contact our support team immediately. Failure to comply may result in delays or rejection of your submission.

**Unacceptable Authorship Types

The following categories of authorship are disallowed and constitute a violation of publication ethics:

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) does not acknowledge AI tools as authors or capable of fulfilling authorship criteria since these technologies lack accountability for the submitted work. Furthermore, authors must assume full responsibility for every aspect of such a paper.

**Limit on Number of Submissions per Author

To ensure that our journals feature a diverse range of authors, authors will not exceed appearing as authors (including co-authors) on five submissions under consideration for publication in a single journal and ten submissions across the IET Journals within the past twelve months.

This policy specifically excludes editorials and various non-peer-reviewed manuscript types.

**Authorship Change Requests

Authors should pay careful attention to the list and order of authors when preparing their manuscript. They must provide a proper list of authors with accurate institutions and verifiable information at the time of original submission.

Adding or deleting authors after submission (including during revisions) is typically not permitted unless specific conditions are met, such as compliance with IET's authorship policies. Requests for altering authorship cannot be fulfilled once a manuscript has been accepted. All modifications to listed authors must be completed through an Authorship Change Form obtainable from the editorial office. Changes made between submission and acceptance require approval from all original authors, including those being removed, as well as justification for any alterations. These changes outlined in the form must receive approval from both the submitting author's department head and, if applicable, the corresponding author's department head.

All requests received will be evaluated by the editorial office and editor, potentially necessitating further evidence or contacting the authors' affiliated institutions to validate each author's contribution. The IET holds the authority to refuse any request that is deemed inconsistent with our authorship policies.

Reproduction of Copyright Material

LaTeX users are required to use the designation field labeled "Main Document" available in the dropdown menu. For reviewing purposes, you are required to submit a single PDF file containing all your compiled source files.

When a manuscript is in the revision stage, figures and tables must be provided as separate files. The primary manuscript document should ideally be submitted in the LaTeX (.tex) format.

Prepare the submission package by compiling all necessary materials into a single PDF document. This ensures that all revisions are captured accurately. You are required to select 'Main Document' as the file designation from the provided dropdown menu. Additionally, it is necessary to submit both hard copies and electronic versions of all final reports.

IEEC intelligent transport system operates under the single-blind peer review framework, as outlined on the Wiley authorservices website. Only when the Editor-in-Chief (or designated Editor) deems a paper to meet the required standards of quality and relevance will it be considered for external evaluation. Author Name Change Policy

In situations where authors request a name change following publication, Wiley will produce revised versions of the paper and re-send updated metadata to relevant indexing services. The editorial and production teams will exercise discretion when recognizing that name changes may be of a sensitive and private nature for various reasons, including alignment with gender identity or as a result of marriage, divorce, or religious conversion. To safeguard an author’s privacy, we will not publish correction notices or notify co-authors regarding these changes. The journal’s editorial office should receive notification of all name change requests through its standard channels.
