Abstract

As the new generation of the satellite navigation systems, Global Positioning System (GPS) is more and more important in military and civil fields in recent years. Though the development of science and technology, the technology of navigation and orientation has been progressed to the direction of great precision and dynamic.With the wide application of GPS locating, every country develop our best to make contribution to the positioning and navigation industry of our country.

This paper mainly studies the generation of GPS signal, and the algorithm of PN code is very important in GPS signal generation. As m sequence is the basis of PN code generation, this paper firstly explains the m sequence’s generative principle in detail and the characteristics of autocorrelation and cross correlation. On the basis of m series, then this paper introduced C/A code generation principle in detail.As P code is one of the focuses of PN code, and the generation of P code is relatively complex, this paper makes detailed analysis about it.

In the platform of MATLAB software simulation, this paper successfully completes the GPS signal generation, and demonstrates the correlation characteristics of PN code visually.It has done a good simulation of the content about this paper.
